Local historian. Anthony P. "Tony" Pizzo was born in Ybor City, Tampa, Florida, in 1912. He graduated from Hillsborough High School and Stetson University and served with the United States Army Ordnance Department in World War II. In 1950, he joined the Tampa Wholesale Liquor Company, Inc., remaining with the firm for thirty-four years. He established the Tampa Historical Society and the Ybor City Rotary Club and served as Hillsborough County Historian for ten years. ...
